• Choose a short vowel wheel (for example, short a)
• Spin the wheels to get a beginning sound and an ending sound
• Select the matching alphabet cards
• Place the cards on the wheel to build a CVC word
• Say the word aloud together
• If it’s a real word, find the matching flashcard and read it
(Quick setup tip: a paper clip and pencil can be used to spin the wheel easily.)
